the witch's castle
Before and After 01. Create a new document and either paste in this picture, or your own. 02. Duplicate the base layer and sharpen it a couple of times. The reason I have you duplicate this layer is so that you can come back to it and mess with the opacity after all the effects take their toll in later steps. You don't want to end up hating it for being too sharp at the end. 03. Duplicate the base layer 3 times and bring them all to the top. The first one I set to Screen: 47%, the second 2 at Overlay: 100%. Your picture should look something like this. 04. Create a new raster layer, fill it with #000000 and set it to Saturation: 20% Your picture should look something like this. 05. Create a new raster layer, fill it with #612121 and set it to Soft Light: 100% Your picture should look something like this. 06. Create a new raster layer, fill it with #C5E4E8 and set it to Color Burn: 24%' Your picture should look something like this. 07. Then paste this texture (from hybrid-genesis.net, I cropped it) on top, and set it to Multiply: 33% Your picture should look something like this. 08. Then paste this texture (from hybrid-genesis, I cropped it) on top, and set it to Multiply: 54% Your picture should look something like this. 09.
